Storm Event, South Australia 18th and 19th of November 2003. Page 4 A line of cells developed late at night to the far north of Whyalla. I was able to get some lightning photos. The storms although distant were incredibly lightning active and so I have pictures of the clouds illuminated from internal lightning. Unfortunately there was a problem with the film and so there is a stain / blue cast on some of the photographs. |

This last photograph best shows the intensity of the lightning. You can see the star trails giving an idea of the distance the storms were away, you can see how the lightning has illuminated the mature cell and you can clearly identify features such as the anvil and overshooting top. There is also a smaller cell at the bottom right of the photograph.
